Lew Floyd, 90, a blacksmith in Newtown and Crawfordsville most of his life, died at 12:30 p.m. Monday in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Nellie Miller 201 S. Walnut Street with whom he had lived since 1953. A native of Newtown, Mr. Floyd was one of the oldest blacksmiths in West Central Indiana. Surviving besides the daughter at whose home he died are a son, R.W. Floyd of Carmel two grandchldren, Mrs. Raymond Spear of Crawfordsville and Howard Stout of Bloomington and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertie Andrews, who died in 1944. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday.  - kbz
